VIKING VEC Plus -designed to be a perfect fit
VIKING VEC Plus™ is the next generation in fully enclosed, dry-shod evacuation directly from the ship into high-capacity liferafts. This unique, self-contained system enables passengers and crew to disembark quickly and safely. With your passengers in mind, we’ve paid careful attention not only to practical aspects, but also to the system’s visual appeal. Designed to fit the exact same footprint as VIKING’s popular VIKING VEC™ evacuation systems, and with the same capacity, VIKING VEC Plus™ won’t require changes to the ship – and no welding is involved.
Easy, cost-effective maintenance and reliability
The essence of the VIKING VEC Plus™ system is simplicity and smart thinking - reducing technical risks and extending asset life. The system provides substantial cost benefits during servicing, thanks to a combination of easy accessibility and an engineering design phase that focused on reducing overall system complexity. With fewer components and gravity-based rather than mechanical launching, there are fewer possibilities for failure – and less wear and tear.

Designed for flexibility and durability
The VIKING VEC Plus™ system represents a complete re-design of the well-proven VIKING VEC™ range. From storage system, to containers, to the underlying platform, fastenings and materials, each component and its interactions has been thoroughly reviewed. Among the principle changes are a reduction in the height of container storage space, as well as built-in float-free functionality. We’ve made the system even more flexible, too, to cater for vessel sizes from smaller ferries to large cruise ships. As you would expect from VIKING, the new system has been subjected to extensive onshore and sea trials. In fact, we’ve gone above and beyond conventional trials, deploying the VIKING VEC Plus™ system in widely varying – often extreme – climates and sea conditions. Subsequently, the system has been approved around the globe in accordance with up-to-date regulatory requirements.
Designed for efficient and safe evacuation
The exceptionally stable VIKING VEC Plus™ system is launched with minimal handling and requires no extra deployment training. Passengers and crew are protected by a controlled, rapid and safe descent, with ample flexibility to accommodate the movement of both vessel and sea.
Designed to take advantage of streamlined service
VIKING VEC Plus™ systems can be covered by a VIKING Shipowner Agreement – a flexible concept that incorporates safety products, global servicing, single-source management, and financing in a variety of fixed price structures.
