A fire blanket should be quick to unpack and made from a fabric that suits the job. The JUTEC JT5020FL fire blanket is made of texturised E-glass fabric and measures 180 x 160 cm. That gives a covering area of 2.88 m². Cut edges are seamed, and the blanket is made in Germany. It is designed to smother small incipient fires by cutting off their oxygen supply. The blanket is folded and packed in a red plastic bag printed with the word Löschdecke, which makes it easy to identify in storage.
