Accessibility statement for viking-life.com

Last updated: 26.03.2026

At VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S, we are committed to making our website accessible to all users. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our digital content so that it is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for everyone.

We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and strive to fulfil EN 301 549 to the greatest extent possible.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA due to the non-compliances listed below.

This statement is prepared in accordance with EN 301 549.

Scope of application

This accessibility statement applies to www.viking-life.com and its associated subpages.

It does not cover third-party platforms, services, or embedded content not controlled by VIKING Life-Saving Equipment.

The website is primarily designed for B2B use and does not support direct online purchasing. Users may submit inquiries or request information or services through contact forms.

Accessibility assessment

We have conducted an accessibility assessment of the website. The assessment was carried out using a combination of manual testing and publicly available accessibility testing tools to identify areas requiring improvement.

The latest audit was conducted between December 2025 and February 2026.

Accessibility improvements are implemented on an ongoing basis as part of our digital development process.

Recent accessibility improvements

  • Improved alternative text descriptions for images
  • Improved heading structure

Non-accessible content

Despite our efforts, some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible. We are actively working to address the following issues:

1.1.1 Non-text content

  • Some images and map markers lack sufficient alternative text descriptions.
  • Some PDF documents contain images or graphical elements that lack appropriate alternative text descriptions.

1.3.1 Info and relationships

  • Some form fields do not provide properly associated labels detectable by screen readers.
  • Navigation landmarks (main navigation, breadcrumbs, footer) do not consistently expose correct semantic structure.
  • Some PDF documents are not properly structured or tagged, making it difficult for assistive technologies to interpret headings, lists, tables, and the correct reading order.
  • The search icon is hidden behind the burger menu on mobile, making it difficult to access using a keyboard or screen readers.
  • The logical structure and relationships between the embedded map, address list, and controls are not clearly programmatically determinable, preventing assistive technologies from understanding the content hierarchy.
  • The relationship between the embedded map and the associated list of address cards is not clearly conveyed to assistive technologies.

1.4.3 Contrasts (minimum)

  • Some text and interface elements do not meet the required minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1.

1.4.4 Resize text

  • Certain elements, including breadcrumbs, do not fully support text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

2.1.1 Keyboard

  • Not all interactive components are fully operable via keyboard navigation.
  • Users cannot access the embedded map directly using a keyboard and must first navigate through every card in the associated list before reaching the map.

2.4.1 Bypass blocks

  • Skip mechanisms are not implemented

2.4.6 Headings and labels

  • Some headings and labels are missing or are not sufficiently descriptive.

2.4.8 Location

  • Breadcrumb navigation is not consistently implemented or correctly marked up.

2.5.8 Target size

  • Some navigation and footer elements do not meet minimum target size requirements.

3.3.2 Labels or instructions

  • Input fields rely on placeholder text instead of properly associated labels. For forms placeholder text is used instead of proper labels on some input fields, making them difficult to use with screen readers.

4.1.2 Name, role, value

  • Certain interactive components do not correctly expose their name, role, state, or value to assistive technologies. This includes some buttons, navigation elements, and quantity selectors.
  • Some map controls and markers do not provide sufficient accessible names or roles for screen readers.

Third party content

Content or functionality provided by third-party tools, such as embedded maps or external services, may not be fully accessible. We encourage third-party providers to ensure accessibility compliance, and we provide alternative methods to access information where possible.

Ongoing improvements

Accessibility is integrated into our design and development processes. We:

  • Conduct periodic accessibility reviews
  • Perform manual and automated testing
  • Address identified issues as part of our release cycles
  • Continuously improving internal awareness of accessibility requirements

We aim to resolve the identified issues progressively.
