Purpose

This instructional course about conventional lifeboat systems onboard cargo vessels is designed to increase your overall understanding of conventional lifeboats and the operation of these. Aim of this course is to inform you about the several elements of a totally enclosed conventional lifeboat system in order to be able to accomplish a safe Lifeboat drill and all the necessary preparations and checks of the system in case of an actual emergency.

The course is conducted as e-learning.

Content

Upon completion of the course, the participant will be familiar with all the various elements of a conventional lifeboat system onboard cargo vessels and be able to distinguish between safe and risky operations during lifeboat drills, for these to be achieved in a safe and efficient way. In case of an emergency the participant will know all the necessary actions and procedures to follow in order to achieve a fast, safe and efficient evacuation with the system onboard.

Target group

All crew members with assigned Lifeboat duties on board the vessel.
