The lightweight construction supports rapid deployment and handling during rescue operations. The open reversible design provides easy access from all sides and supports boarding and recovery operations from both helicopters and rescue vessels.
The Pentagon Star is designed for temporary flotation support, enabling rescue teams to stabilize and recover large numbers of persons in emergency situations.
The device is currently under testing and development in cooperation with a national coast guard authority. It does not comply to SOLAS or any other international legislation.
