Yachting RECALL NOTICE Steps - what to do?

Steps in the recall

1. Read the
Recall notice

2. Check the type and serial number of your RescYou™ liferaft.

These can be seen on the Certificate of Compliance that you received along with your liferaft.
The type and serial number can also be seen on the registration label on the bottom of the liferaft container or if packed in a valise and at the end of the valise.

3. Enter type and serial number into the search function: ls my liferaft involved?
In order to get the correct reply for your liferaft, please be very careful to enter the data correct.

4a. If your liferaft is not at risk - you do not need to take any more action.
We apologise for any inconvenience.

4b. If your liferaft is at risk, please contact a VIKING approved servicing station
for a valve inspection. Click here for a full list of applicable stations.
The inspection and any necessary valve replacement will of course be free of charge for you.

5. Bring your liferaft to the approved servicing station. The local VIKING office or the servicing station can assist you in arranging transport.
Please note that for shipping the liferaft is classed as dangerous goods - UN number 2990.

6. When the liferaft has been inspected and the pressure relief valve, if necessary, replaced, the log card inside the liferaft will be updated accordingly.
You will also receive a document that describes the actions taken towards your liferaft - and that the liferaft is no longer at risk.
We will of course maintain records of the serial numbers of the liferafts that have been handled.
