Q Why should my liferaft be serviced at a VIKING approved service station ?

Q Is the VIKING RescYou liferaft approved ?
A All VIKING RescYou liferafts are approved according to ISO 9650, all tests were surveyed and approved by DNV (Det Norske Veritas)

Q Is the VIKING RescYou liferaft approved according to ISAF ?
A The VIKING RescYou liferafts are approved acc. to ISO 9650, this standard is recognized by ISAF meaning that the local race organizers can accept an ISO 9650 approved liferaft.

Q Does my VIKING RescYou have an insulated floor ?
A The VIKING RescYou and RescYou Pro have insulated floor, foam or inflatable floor respectively offering protection from hypothermia

Q Can the container be used as a step ?
A Although our fiberglass containers are substancial, they are designed purely to protect the liferaft and its contents from the elements.

Q Can the valise liferaft be stowed on deck ?
A No, the liferaft packed in valise is specifically designed to be stowed in a designated locker or below out of the weather in orderto protect it from the elements.

Q What is a Hydro static release unit ?
A A Hydro static release unit is designed to automatically release your liferaft in the event of the vessel sinking beforeyou are able to launch it. The Hammar H20 will release at all angles and needs only the required water pressure to activate. The release is designed to activate at a depth of between 1,5 to 4,0 metres.

Q Can my VIKING RescYou liferaft be fitted with a Hydro static release unit ?
A Yes, the RescYou liferaft packed in container can be fitted with a Hydro static unit. VIKING Recommends Hammar H20 Replacement of hydrostatic release units is every two years.
