VIKING strengthens its service presence in Turkey


On May the 31st 2008, VIKING Life-Saving Equipment Istanbul Denizcilik Ticaret AS opens its doors for servicing maritime life-saving equipment in the Turkish region.

Turkey has a long shipping tradition and has a large new building industry that is enjoying continuing growth. The region is host to an increasing number of cruise vessels and currently between 150 and 170 vessels cross the Bosphorus Strait every day.

The new servicing station will strengthen VIKING's global servicing network and support the large and growing new building market in Turkey.
VIKING's 48th location opens its doors on the 31st of May 2008, ready from day one to receive liferafts for servicing. It is strategically located in Tuzla near Marmara and the Black Sea in new, state-of-the-art premises that cover approximately 600m2. The initial staff of 10 will be lead by Mr. Yasin Kasa, General Manager. He will be assisted by Mr. Olcay Cifteler, Service Manager.

YKS Marine will continue to be VIKING's sales agent in Turkey.
