VIKING reaches important milestone despite unstable world economy

VIKING continues to lead the way in global maritime and offshore safety. On November 26, 2008 VIKING reached its long awaited milestone of 1.000.000.000 DKK in turnover despite stiff competition in several markets and fluctuating currencies.



VIKING hosts Crown Prince at its centre of excellence near Bangkok

A celebration of Danish technology and innovation took place on 26th November 2008, where HRH the Danish Crown Prince Frederik paid an official visit to VIKING Life-Saving Equipment’s manufacturing facility in Thailand.

The Esbjerg-based company - a global market leader in maritime safety and rescue equipment - presented its state of the art facilities for HRH the Crown Prince and his delegation.

VIKING's facility in Thailand employs close to 500 people and is fully integrated technologically with corresponding facilities in Denmark and Norway.

“We are pleased to learn that HRH Crown Prince Frederik decided to visit VIKING Thailand”, says CEO Kjeld Amann, “and we are sure that with HRH the Crown Prince's background as a Danish navy seal, he appreciated the opportunity to learn more about our important maritime safety products, and enjoyed witnessing another fruitful cooperation between Thailand and Denmark.”

The only liferaft designed and tested specifically for Arctic sailing


VIKING has launched a new liferaft container that provides thermal protection for the liferaft inside, so that the liferaft can be activated at temperatures as low as -45°C. This VIKING Arctic liferaft is the only liferaft designed and tested specifically for sailing in Arctic ice-covered waters.
