	Soft body armor Over the past 10 years, as many as 4 million people worldwide have been killed by light weapons (handheld guns and sub machineguns) in crime, riots and warfare. Maritime crime is increasing, and as a result waterborne Special Forces are facing higher risks of assault than ever before. VIKING offers a state-of-the-art soft body armour lifejacket providing unique protection from bullets and stabs. It was developed for waterborne operations by Special Forces, Coastguards, Customs and other waterborne operating task forces. It is unique in its field in that it provides ballistic, fragmentation and stab protection. When exposed to humidity, or in direct contact with water, the protection offered by standard body armour materials will decrease as much as 50%, causing fatal lack of protection. Unlike other soft body armour, VIKING’s protection is not diminished when wet – it remains 100% effective. Using PROTEXA™ special impregnated aramid, VIKING's new Soft Body Armour with integrated lifejacket, offers a new level of performance for waterborne operations. Wet or dry, armour products using PROTEXA™ maintain their performance against penetration of bullets and in addition offers improved stab resistance. Using the unique PROTEXA™ material, and adding VIKING's special design and long-term experience in making inflatable lifejackets for use by a number of navies users are offered a state-of-the-art, comfortable and easy-to-wear soft body armour with integrated life jacket. Viking offers standard or custom-made soft body armour lifejackets according to customer specifications. Additionally, ceramic or polyethylene hard armour plates can be inserted into special pockets to offer protection against rifle and hard piercing bullets. Performance according to international standards is documented Additional neck, shoulder and crutch protection is available as is Protexa Detachable bags with 24 or 30 layer Protexa and 10 mm buoyancy foam for fitting inside lifejacket. PROTEXA provides both ballistic and stab protection in both dry and wet conditions. They come with lifting - and crutch becket, SOLAS approved light and whistle.
